Day 2: Boston - New Bedford - Newport - Boston (147 miles) |
Today we will first go to visit New Bedford Whaling Museum. Then we will move to Newport to see the the Breakers. Then head to Brown University and also State House of Rhode Island. When time and weather permitting, we can go through the Cliff walk. New Bedford is nicknamed "The Whaling City" because during the 19th century, the city was one of the most important whaling ports in the world.
Newport is a high end New England seaport town, extremely popular among the mega-rich of America. Travel along Ocean Drive to get beautiful scenic views and see the magnificent Breakers Mansion. It is a short drive from Boston.
Providence, founded in 1636, is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Rhode Island and is one of the oldest cities in the United States. The city is situated at the mouth of the Providence River at the head of Narragansett Bay.

In the morning, after guests have been picked up in Boston, we will drive to Cape Cod and take the express ferry to Provincetown, where we will walk around and enjoy the wonderful weather. At the end of the day, we will return to Boston. Plymouth is a coastal town in Massachusetts, south of Boston. It is the site of the first Pilgrim settlement, founded in 1620. Plymouth Rock, a boulder in Pilgrim Memorial State Park, marks the place where settlers are thought to have landed on shore.
A geographic cape extending into the Atlantic Ocean from the southeastern corner of mainland Massachusetts, in the northeastern United States. Its historic, maritime character and ample beaches attract heavy tourism during the summer months.

Today, we will travel from Boston to Maine to visit the Nubble Lighthouse and Acadia National Park This coastal town in beautiful York County, Maine is a popular summer destination for people all over New England. In fact, the name "Ogunquit" translates to "beautiful place by the sea" in the local Native American language.
Acadia National Park is located on Mount Desert Island just off the coast of Maine. This scenic park encompasses mountains, ocean shoreline, lakes, and forest. Guests can expect to see moose, black bear, whit-tailed deer, and many seabirds.

Before returning to Boston, we will explore Bar Harbor, ME and visit Salem Witch Museum. We will have the chance to take a cruise of the area. Bar Harbor is a town on Mount Desert Island in Hancock County, Maine, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population is 5,235. Bar Harbor is a popular tourist destination in the Down East region of Maine and home to the College of the Atlantic.
Salem is a city on the north coast of Massachusetts above Boston. It is well known for several local landmarks including Witch House and the Peabody Essex Museum with a rebuilt Qing-era Chinese house.

Day 6: Boston |
Today, we will tour Boston, where we will visit the campuses of MIT and Harvard University. We may also visit Skywalk Observation Deck at prudential center. Then, we will see the Massachusetts State House, the New England Aquarium and Trinity Church. At Quincy Market, we will be have the chance to enjoy some lunch, including a delicious lobster meal. Afterwards, we can take a Boston Harbor cruise. At the end of the day, guests will be dropped off at Logan Airport for their departure flights. Boston is a city as beautiful as it is historically significant. Visitors can walk the Freedom Trail and see where the seeds of the American Revolution were sown or visit the North End and look out over the harbor.
